Bittersweet: One day more pregnant than I've ever been.

On January 7th, 2008 I was 31 weeks pregnant with my surprise baby. I knew she was sick but I had no idea how bad things were. I went in for a follow up ultrasound & that's when the tech told me the words nobody wants to hear...

"There's a problem.... the baby is no longer alive."

Two days later I delivered a stillborn. My beautiful daughter, Nevaeh, was born January 9th, 2009 @ 1:41 am. She was 2lbs 9oz.

Today I am 31w1d pregnant. One day more pregnant than I have ever been.
This is a day I mourn the loss of my first daughter & celebrate the beautiful gift I have been given.. to be pregnant again with Madelyn.

If you'd like to visit the site I made for Nevaeh & read my story the link is http://nevaehgradedudas.faithweb.com

19w2d photo shoot... er ultrasound :)

Her profile... She has daddy's nose!

This one's kinda creepy... Sorry baby girl.

Girl parts... 'Nuff said.

Week 21-24: June 9th- 30th

My little papaya girl :) Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop.

Long time, no blog.... but I'm back!

It's been a crazy last few weeks.... er months but I'm back. Everything is good with baby. Yay! We had our anatomy scan on May 28th. She was movin' & groovin' in there.... and yes I did say she. We found out we're having a baby girl. We've decided on the name Madelyn Kylee. Madelyn means strong woman and Kylee is the feminine form on Kyle, which is Trav's middle name. Once I get time I'll post some picture from her photo shoot... err ultrasound. Whatever!

Week 10: April 2nd- 8th

Baby is the size of a prune! With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will too.)

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Week 9: March 26th- April 1st

Baby is the size of a green olive now! Your little embryo has now officially graduated to fetus-hood. Adding to the excitement, a Doppler ultrasound device might be able to pick up the beating heart. With basic physical structures in place and increasingly distinct facial features, baby is kind of starting to look like... well... a baby!

Week 8: March 19th- 25th

Baby is a raspberry this week!
Your baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though you can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Week 7: March 12th- 18th

Our baby is a blueberry! :) Awww.

Baby's brain -- both hemispheres! -- is growing fast, generating about 100 new cells every minute. Arms and legs are emerging as joints start to form, and a permanent set of kidneys (baby's third!) is now in place.

Our Fur Babies- Gunther & Gizmo

Meet Gunther & Gizmo. They are both 9 months old and the soon-to-be big brothers of our little peanut :)

Thursday, March 5, 2009

Week 6: March 5th- 11th

My baby is the size of a sweet pea. Growing like crazy, baby is starting to sprout eyes, ears, nose, cheeks and chin. Those little hands and feet- still webbed like paddles- might wiggle by week's end, the heart is beating (almost twice as fast as yours!), and blood is starting to circulate.

Week 5: February 26th- March 4th

My baby is the size of an appleseed. Your embryo (looking kind of like a tadpole) is starting to form major organs (heart, kidney, liver, stomach) and systems (nervous, circulatory, digestive). Baby's presence in your uterus triggers production of hCG (the hormone detected by pregnancy tests)... which triggers production of other hormones like estrogen and progesterone... which trigger all those great symptoms you've probably been noticing!

Week 3-4: February 12th- 25th

My baby is the size of a poppy seed. In week 3, sperm meets egg, and voila: conception! Your little zygote sets off on a six-day trek through your fallopian tubes, dividing and redividing into identical cells as it travels to your uterus.
In week 4, now safe in your womb, the ball of cells (blastocyst) splits in two, becoming the embryo and the placenta. The amniotic sac and fluid are forming around baby, and will act as a cushion for the next eight months.

We're pregnant!

[originally written on 02.18.09]
I started "feeling" pregnant last week. Ya know like certain smells making me feel nauseous, bloated, and sore boobies. Well I had free test strips that I got so I decided to try one.... And two lines showed up. But this stupid strip came with no directions. So I tried a regular Walmart test and *ta-da* two lines again!

So I called the doctor yesterday and went in for a confirmation test and they confirmed I am in fact PREGNANT! I still can't believe it :) I am about 3 1/2 weeks and due on October 29th, 2009.

Just a hello and intro :)

Hello :) Lets see, some things about me... My name is Amanda and I blew out 21 candles on May 25th. I am married to an amazing guy named Travis. He is everything I could ever hope for & all that I need.We finally tied the knot on October 9th, 2008 and I'm so happy! When we got married I gained a stepson, Conner. He is 3 and such a smart little boy. We just found out we are expecting a new little one due to make his/her appearance on October 29th, 2009. I was blessed with a beautiful baby girl named Nevaeh whom I love more than life itself. I was due on March 11th, 2008 but she was *born into Heaven* on January 9th. She is forever missed and never forgotten. I live in small town and while some people prefer living in a big city, I love my little bitty town. I have some of the best and most loyal friends and family a girl could ask for, but I'm always looking to meet new people so send me an add. I would love to talk to you.....
